 The Cool Mountain Education Fund was established in 2005. We are dedicated to the education of the Nuosu people and their neighbors, and working for the preservation and improvement of Liangshan's environment.

Our projects
  • Supporting students to attend secondary school: In August 2005, the Cool Mountain Education Fund provided scholarships to 14 students from Baiwu Township to attend junior middle schools in the greater Liangshan region.
  • Educational enrichment: We are training teachers at the Yangjuan Primary School to incorporate local knowledge into the primary school curriculum.
  • Supporting innovative development projects: We are conscious of Liangshan's need for sustainable ways out of poverty, and look to support small, innovative projects that will s how the way.

Yangjuan and Pianshui Villages
Yangjuan and Pianshui Villages are located in Baiwu Township, Yanyuan County, Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. There are about 200 families in the two villages plus their satellite communities of Zhuchang and Gangou. Yangjuan is the site of Yangjuan Primary School. All inhabitants of Yangjuan and Pianshui are members of the Nuosu ethnic group within the Yi nationality.
